Welcome to Pet Love Doggy Daycare, the happiest place on the Gold Coast for pups big and small!
We’re all about giving your dog the best day ever — filled with play time on acreage, enrichment, cuddles and plenty of tail wags.

Our family farm-style daycare offers a safe, supervised and fun environment where dogs can socialise, build confidence and burn off energy while you’re at work or out for the day. We group dogs by personality and temperament, so everyone feels comfortable and has the right playmates.

Your pup will enjoy:

5 acres of open property: best for dogs with good recall, or willing to be trained
Dedicated Doggy Playroom inside our family home. This is where we conduct dog training.
Toys, tunnels and sensory enrichment activities
Regular toilet breaks and nap times
Saltwater Swimming Pool for burning off more energy & confidence in water
Positive reinforcement from experienced, caring handlers
Supervision for training purposes and homework given if wanted
Optional add-ons like one-on-one training, walks, or bath/brush

Each pup is subject to a trial day, and not everyone is suited to our acreage daycare. We require pups to have great recall as we have no fences, good manners in a pack environment, no aggression or resource guarding, easily get along with other animals and children, and be fully up to date with vaccinations, flea, tick and worming. If recall is present but still needs some work, then we will evaluate your pup on its trial day and let you know if they will be suitable, as we can assess them from a dog trainers point of view. If not suitable, we do have other trusted daycare operators that we can recommend!

How to Teach your Puppy to STAY ✋

If your puppy “can stay”… but only for 2 seconds 😅 this is why 👇

Most people rush distance and distractions WAY too fast.

A solid stay isn’t about saying the word louder… it’s about building it properly:
• Reward them for holding still
• Add your cue calmly
• Take small steps away (don’t rush it)
• Then start moving around them 👀

Your puppy needs to learn that “stay” means don’t move… even when life is happening around them.

Quick trainer tip 👇
“WAIT” and “STAY” aren’t the same.

WAIT = your puppy is waiting for something (food, going outside, getting out of the car). There’s an expected reward at the end.

STAY = there’s no reward coming straight away — it’s about holding position until released. This is your safety command and super important for things like guests, doors, or unpredictable situations.

If they break it? No stress — just reset and make it easier.

Short sessions. Small wins. Consistency.

This is exactly how I teach it inside my online puppy program — step by step, so you don’t feel lost or overwhelmed and your puppy actually listens in real life 🙌

Want your puppy to come every time you call them? Start this early and you’ll thank yourself later.

First, make coming to you the BEST thing in your puppy’s world. Every time they come — treats, praise, cuddles… make it a party.

Start inside with no distractions. Say their name once, then ‘come!’ in a happy, excited voice.

As soon as they move towards you mark it with YES — reward straight away. Don’t wait.

Never call your puppy for something negative like bath time or ending play… or they’ll start avoiding you.

Keep sessions short and fun — puppies learn best through games, not pressure.

And the biggest tip… reward EVERY single recall while they’re young. This is where you build that habit for life.

Once you’re feeling confident with their recall inside, you can then start outside training where there distractions like smells, noise and other people and dogs. This will be the biggest challenge! Use their leash on or a long line, and practice the same process.

Do this right, and you’ll have a dog that chooses you, every time! 🐶

Teaching your dog to wait for their food is one of the easiest ways to build calm behaviour and respect around resources 🐶✨

Instead of diving straight into the bowl, your dog learns that patience is what actually gets them fed 👏

Here’s how to do it 👇
Hold the bowl → lower it slowly → if they move, lift it back up
The second they stay still… THAT’S your moment 🙌

Add your cue “wait” once they start understanding
Then release with “ok” or “eat” or “break” when you’re ready

Consistency is everything — every single meal is a training opportunity 💯

You’ll notice a calmer dog, less pushy behaviour, and way better manners around food 👌

Teach your puppy to GO TO MAT 🐾✨ (BED/PLACE)

This is one of the most powerful skills you can teach — it creates calm, stops chaos, and gives your puppy a clear “off switch” 🙌

How to start:
• Place the mat on the floor
• The moment your puppy steps on it — say YES and reward
• Repeat until they’re choosing the mat on their own
• Add the cue “mat” once they understand the game
• Ask them to lay down and reward
• Build duration by rewarding calm behaviour (not just getting on)

Pro tip: don’t rush it — reward calm, not excitement. This is where the magic happens 💫
